Sully has quit drinking, but his negative attitude lingers. Carlos hands in his two-week notice as a fierce blizzard hits the city, prompting the squads to come in early. An overwhelmed Doc disregards protocol and puts Carlos back on the streets while the teams are occupied with storm-related rescues. Meanwhile, Faith's concerns about Emily's new boyfriend, Eric, prove justified when he arrives at Mercy after overdosing on Special K, unable to recall where he left Emily, who also got high. Faith, Bosco, Sully, Ty, Doc, and Carlos set out to find Emily, rushing her to Mercy in critical condition, while Faith and Fred argue over allowing Emily to go out with Eric.
