Reba discovers that Van is managing the family's finances and has Cheyenne tracking all her expenditures in a journal. She suggests he should view Cheyenne as more of a partner. However, Van believes the answer is to start providing Cheyenne a weekly allowance for her contributions at home, which doesn’t go over well with her. Meanwhile, Barbra Jean finds out that Jake has begun a profitable venture selling soda to his peers, despite school regulations prohibiting such activities.
