Fed up with the "painfully square" opening tune, bassist Floyd Pepper tells Kermit that he and the rest of the orchestra (with the exception of Rowlf) are resigning. Kermit insists that their conductor, Nigel, will come up with a new theme, but Floyd dismisses this, stating, "He created the first one, man." Floyd showcases his own concept for a new theme, a bizarre Zappa-inspired piece titled "Fugue for Frog." Kermit rejects it and forbids Floyd from presenting a petition to Kaye Ballard regarding the song. Consequently, the band departs, leaving Rowlf to play the closing theme solo on the piano.
