Gene believes he’s merely an observer for the show, expecting to enjoy the performance without participating. However, Kermit cleverly persuades him to take the stage by requesting a dance lesson. Kermit has a surprise finale planned with "Singin' in the Rain," but Gene hesitates, feeling he can't match his iconic rendition from the film. Ultimately, he surprises everyone by singing it backstage. Meanwhile, Scooter interprets his Tarot cards as foretelling an impending apocalypse. Beauregard takes his prediction seriously and attempts to rally the cast around the idea that the end is nigh.
