Royal, facing serious heart issues, asks Laura and Almanzo to look after his daughter as he nears his end. Jenny is shattered by her father’s passing. After a conversation with Reverend Alden about the afterlife, she attempts to drown herself in hopes of reuniting with him. Despite not being able to swim, Jeb Carter manages to rescue her. Laura then helps Jenny understand the importance of honoring her parents by choosing a path that would make them proud.
