As his son falls ill, Bill's communication skills become crucial. He successfully secures his son’s medical care but finds himself needing to relearn the fundamentals of language. Meanwhile, a nameless woman enjoys a peaceful picnic with her husband and twins but becomes increasingly bewildered as the day’s events begin to loop inexplicably. In a separate storyline, a returning space shuttle raises alarms at NASA when it brings back a mysterious shape-shifting alien, creating a potential threat to everyone involved.
