Upon arriving on a new planet, the team encounters the Alteri, a warrior culture that engages in ritualistic combat. After facing numerous defeats, Stacey immerses herself in their customs and discovers that the "Mandro stones" amplify the wearer's abilities. However, as she begins to wear the stones, she experiences unsettling side effects, including paranoia, rage, addiction, and a physical change. In a fit of rage, Stacey breaks free and makes a run for the Stargate. The team manages to slow her down, allowing Gus to reach her and Draga to revert her to her original state. Simultaneously, Draga has a vision of a distant star system after touching the stones, which they suspect could be the Ancients' home.
