Feeling exasperated with their transportation situation, Tommy, Elizabeth, Nancy, and Susan decide to purchase their own car. Meanwhile, Tom is disappointed with Tommy's struggles in English and pushes him to improve his grades. This leads Tom to realize the consequences of parental pressure when Tommy, in an effort to make his father proud, resorts to buying a term paper from a high school con artist. On another note, Joannie is eager for Nicholas to take on the role of Prince Charming in her upcoming play.
