During Steve Austin’s week-long fishing trip, a doppelgänger appears at Oscar Goldman’s office, claiming he's cut his vacation short. This impostor covertly snaps pictures of the Omega Project files and hands them over to an intermediary known as Breezy. Just as the real Steve returns, he discovers his look-alike being shown around the Omega Project facility. In the chaos of a chase, the impostor is fatally struck by a car. To investigate further, Steve assumes the identity of the impostor, a former boxer named John Dine, whose face was altered to mimic him. The quest for the stolen photographs leads Steve into the world of a shady boxing promoter.
