Thomas dreams of pulling a full train rather than merely shuffling coaches for the larger engines, who mock him, doubting his abilities. One night, Henry falls ill, and by morning, he is still unwell. With no other engines available to take over the morning train, Thomas is given the chance he has longed for. Excited to prove himself, he rushes ahead but fails to realize he hasn't been properly attached to the train, leaving his coaches and passengers abandoned at the station!
