Cissy and Gregg are on the verge of tying the knot, but Bill is determined to intervene. He whisks the kids away to California in an effort to sway Cissy's decision. At a studio party, Cissy encounters the charming western actor Steve Hunter and quickly finds herself attracted to him. As Bill learns about this budding romance, he attempts to thwart it by bringing Gregg back to rekindle their relationship. However, when Gregg expresses his support for Cissy’s potential romance with Steve, she’s taken aback. Ultimately, when Steve proposes, Cissy turns him down.
