On her first day as an intern, Dr. Corday is paired with Dale Edson but quickly finds herself under Romano's thumb. Meanwhile, Kerry interviews for the position of ER chief. Doug and Carol contemplate the prospect of becoming parents when Carol suspects she might be pregnant. In another part of the hospital, Carol and Lynette struggle to prevent a wounded gang member from leaving to seek revenge. Lucy faces Carter's frustration when he discovers her lack of knowledge about starting an IV. Additionally, Jeanie approaches Doug with a request to become a full-time PA in the pediatric ER.
