David Freiburger’s 1967 Chevy, known as the Crusher Camaro, is a legendary project car that has been featured in Hot Rod magazine since 1994. Now, it’s undergoing its latest transformation on Roadkill Garage (check out episodes 14 and 16) as it prepares for a thrilling run on the dragstrip. The design pays homage to Bill “Grumpy” Jenkins’ Camaro, which famously clinched victory in the inaugural Pro Stock race at the NHRA Winternationals in 1970. Equipped with a powerful 550hp, 400ci small-block engine with a tunnel ram, a specialized TH350 transmission from Gearstar, a Gear Vendors Overdrive unit, and 4.57 rear gears, this setup surpasses all of Freiburger and Steve Dulcich’s expectations for speed and performance.
