When a past student inspires Carol to apply for a writing position at his magazine, she heads to New York City with Ed by her side. Meanwhile, Warren and Mark, at Molly's suggestion, guide a new student through the school, discovering that the newcomer isn't the only one with lessons to learn. Carol excels at a test assignment, leading to a full-time job offer. Meanwhile, Dr. Jerome and his granddaughter engage in some covert psychological testing on Mike. After some consideration, Carol ultimately decides to take the job and move to New York City.
