An army lieutenant demands 100 top-quality steers but only provides a piece of paper as compensation. When tensions rise, he draws his weapon, but Rowdy manages to shoot him in the arm. Soon after, reinforcements arrive, insisting on the delivery of the cattle. To resolve the situation, Rowdy embarks on a forty-mile journey to the fort, only to find that the major informs him he has no funds to pay for the steers.
