A murder occurs on a lavish 747, leaving Grissom and his team perplexed when they stumble upon two elegantly dressed teenagers in the desert. The case begins with the discovery of a horse trainer's body in the cargo hold of a private jet, which is transporting twelve affluent passengers and a million-dollar show horse. While it initially looks like an accidental trampling, Grissom and Catherine dig deeper and uncover signs of foul play. Simultaneously, Sara and Warrick investigate the suspicious death of a 15-year-old boy found beneath a bedspread in the Hell's Gate area of Death Valley, further complicated by the discovery of a girl's body just half a mile away.
