Just moments before landing in Portland, United Airlines Flight 173 experiences a catastrophic failure, losing all four engines above a crowded residential area. Meanwhile, a Boeing 737 in Japan manages a safe landing but unexpectedly ignites while all 165 passengers and crew are still inside. Additionally, nearly 700 miles off its intended route, Varig Flight 254 must execute an emergency landing in the depths of the Amazon jungle.
