Concurrently, Dawson, Jen, Jack, and Grams travel to Capeside for Lily's first birthday, where Dawson discovers his mother is dating someone new. Jen reveals to Jack her desire to end things with Dawson, leaving him torn about his lingering feelings for Joey.
