Jack and Micki, feeling down about Ryan's decision to stay with the Pennitites, make a startling discovery: the Quilt of Hathor they possess is a fake, as they can actually damage it—something that shouldn't be possible with cursed antiques. They head back to the religious community, where they find that Reverend Josiah, Ryan's future father-in-law, is using the quilt to attack his foes in their dreams. Angered by Ryan's relationship with his daughter, Josiah has falsely accused him of murder. Now, Ryan must engage in a brutal, Old Testament-style trial by combat while Jack and Micki race to retrieve the real Quilt.
