Title: Papa Was a Rolling Stone Plot: Robert is taken aback when his children surprise him with a birthday party, leading him to leave in distress. Jerri reveals that Robert's father abandoned the family on Robert's eighth birthday, which has left deep scars. In an effort to reconnect, the kids place an ad in the newspaper to find their elusive grandfather, who ultimately responds. Jerri urges Robert to confront his father in hopes of repairing their strained relationship for the sake of the children. However, their meeting escalates into conflict. Determined to break the cycle of abandonment, Robert decides to return with his kids to his father's home to celebrate both his birthday and their newfound connection.
