Now that she’s in junior college, Bobbie Jo feels more mature and eager to attend an all-night bash with her friends. However, Kate is hesitant and denies her permission, despite Bobbie Jo claiming that other mothers are allowing their daughters to stay out late. Kate discovers that the other mothers share her concerns and don’t want their girls out all night either. She finally compromises, permitting Bobbie Jo to stay out until 1:30 AM, with the Cannonball scheduled for pickup. Although Bobbie Jo and her friends plan to extend their night, they return home to find a surprise awaiting them on the Cannonball.
