While searching through the attic, she stumbles upon a diary belonging to her ancestor, Eliza Simpson. As Lisa dives into Eliza's narrative, she uncovers that her family played a role in the Underground Railroad, aiding slaves in their quest for freedom. Eliza shares her experience of helping a slave named Virgil, but when Lisa presents her research at school, some classmates challenge her findings, igniting her resolve to clear her family’s reputation.
