To resolve Jane's financial issues, Amanda makes Michael her business partner. In a desperate move, Jane instructs her accountant to manipulate the design firm's financial statements to prevent Michael and Syd from claiming a share of her earnings. Meanwhile, after Lauren's arrest, Sydney steps in to run her operation. Amanda brings on a young man named Ted Ryan as the building manager but soon lets him go due to his odd behavior. Nevertheless, he continues to hang around the building, spying on Amanda while she showers.
