Host Cat Deeley kicked off the episode by announcing that the final 14 dancers would encounter new challenges, raising the stakes for the seven remaining couples. She revealed that, for the first time this season, each couple would perform twice. Adding to the excitement, hip hop choreographers Napoleon and Tabitha Dumo joined regular judges Mary Murphy and Nigel Lythgoe to critique the performances.
