After hearing about her neighbors' marriage falling apart, Mary becomes anxious about her own relationship with Lester. To rekindle their romance, she organizes a special evening for them. Lester takes her advice and brings home flowers, but their attempts to create a romantic atmosphere with a fancy dinner, dim lighting, and soft music feel forced. Eventually, they realize that the best moments happen naturally when they reflect on their shared memories. Meanwhile, Sandra is tasked with babysitting her 6-year-old niece, Susie, while her sister Harriet and her husband visit his ailing mother. She seeks Mary’s guidance on dinner ideas and tips for getting Susie to sleep.
