Following the murder of a mother, Lt. Joe Kenda initially suspects a robbery that has taken a deadly turn. However, the investigation takes a shocking twist when a series of spiteful messages come to light. Meanwhile, officers uncover a body on the road that appears to be the result of a hit-and-run, but as they dig deeper, they find that the actual cause of death completely alters the direction of the investigation.
