Through Fire And Water (S01E03)

Title: Through Fire and Water Plot: The Newts are struggling more than the other animals, and upon discovering a vast lake, they choose to settle there. After bidding farewell, the remaining animals press on. As they reach the opposite shore, Weasel detects a scent of smoke. Panic ensues as they spot a fire rapidly approaching. Instinctively, Fox takes off to escape the flames but soon realizes Toad is missing. He bravely returns to find Toad, while Badger discovers that Mole is also unaccounted for, having been rescued by a firefighter and tucked away in his pocket. Badger rushes back to rescue him. Tragically, they later learn that the Newts perished in the fire, marking the first loss on their journey.
