In this gripping half-hour episode, the notorious Jake Wilson (Jack Elam) arrives in town with malicious intent. He barges into the BirdCage at 2:30, where a young man quickly recognizes him, leading to a deadly confrontation that ends with the young man's life and an attempt on Johnny's. When Dan hears the gunfire, Jake takes hostages, threatening to kill his deputy and Dan's girlfriend unless his demands are met: clear the streets, provide him with a horse, and let him escape. Wounded from being shot twice, Jake becomes increasingly aggressive, terrorizing Lily and the others before the climactic shootout right at 3:00.
