With the Australians now in charge of Whitestone, significant changes are underway. Gibby Fiske arrives as the new head and makes it clear he’s not interested in publishing literature. One by one, he calls in employees, leading to many of them being let go. During his meeting with Gibby, Martin pitches various book ideas, but they all fall flat as they’re deemed too literary and not sensational enough. In a last-ditch effort, Martin turns to Eddie Charles, the host of the controversial Eddie Charles Show, pleading for his autobiography. Initially hesitant, Eddie finally agrees, but only if he can find a bigger publisher. Tensions rise as Martin starts to focus on the more scandalous elements of Eddie's story.
