After addressing more urgent tasks, Norm finally dedicates time to creating a mantelpiece for the master bedroom in his home. Despite the stunning furniture he's crafted over the years at the New Yankee Workshop, the fireplace mantel—a key architectural feature—has remained incomplete. Now, instead of staring at a bare brick and plaster wall, he can admire a charming Colonial mantelpiece that enhances the room. The project entails using a router table for crafting the frames to hold the m.d.o. plywood panels, precise cuts with a mitre saw, and installing the finished mantelpiece. As always, Norm simplifies the process, making it accessible for everyday woodworkers.
