Upon his return to Bray, Heston attempted to construct his own tandoor, only to find that digging a five-foot hole and lining it with fire bricks was a bit impractical for most. To simplify things, he opted for a modified barbecue instead. In Cambridge, Heston also scanned a chicken breast using MRI technology to study how marinades impact the meat while he worked on perfecting his sauce.
