In a state of panic, Suzanne contacts her father from Union Station in Toronto after her date for the Toronto Film Festival Award Ceremony, Tommy, unexpectedly cancels and is murdered just moments before they were supposed to meet. Frantically, Alexander tries to reach Peter in Chicago but is unsuccessful since Peter's phone is off. It becomes clear that Tommy's killers have also taken Suzanne hostage, demanding a briefcase filled with sensitive documents related to a groundbreaking drug that Tommy's company is developing. The team realizes Tommy was targeted due to his knowledge, and Suzanne's safety hinges on keeping the documents secret. They must locate the briefcase before they can negotiate for her release.
