Hope Wilson (Robbie Chong) senses something unusual about the battered man who stumbles into the homeless shelter she operates with her mentor, Jack Parsons (Larry Musser). Although he appears to be a drug addict, his hands are surprisingly soft and his nails neatly trimmed. Tom Cooper (Dale Midkiff) is disoriented, unaware of his identity or surroundings, and confused about why two sharply dressed men, Vincent (Michael Tiernan) and Cole (Brian Jensen), are pursuing him. The only thing he clings to is a small metal case that holds five vials of his memories in crystal form, along with a unique injector that can erase or restore them.
