Trampas accompanies a convicted murderer back to a town where he was acquainted with the sheriff. Doubts about the man’s guilt arise when Trampas discovers that the sheriff passed away just two days after the arrest in a horse-related incident. Intrigued by the conflicting accounts surrounding the case, Trampas takes it upon himself to dig deeper into the troubling circumstances.
