Perplexed, Fran seeks guidance from Dr. Miller, who suggests that she tends to gravitate towards men like her father, who maintain emotional distance. Determined to make a change, Fran attempts to alter Mr. Sheffield's demeanor but ultimately decides to resign to transform herself. In a bid to keep her from leaving, Maxwell refers to her as Fran. They agree to keep their budding relationship discreet for now, marking the beginning of their journey toward commitment.
