Sylvia is unsettled by Mai Ling's arrival, leading to a rift between the two friends as they compete for Fran's attention. Sylvia fears that Mai Ling will also interfere with Fran's relationship with Mr. Sheffield. However, Fran soon discovers that Mai Ling is actually engaged to Brighton for the purpose of obtaining a green card!
