Seargent Slaughter and the rescue team manage to flee from Cobra Island, but in the meantime, Serpentor seizes control of Washington D.C. The Joes soon discover this new threat posed by Serpentor. However, the Cobra leader's inexperience with contemporary combat tactics gives G.I. Joe an upper hand, allowing them to launch a successful counteroffensive against Cobra's forces.
