She eventually takes on the role of building manager. Meanwhile, the new owners of 227 plan to demolish the structure, leading to tenant outrage directed at Rose for the sale. In a twist of fate, Eva discovers original sheet music by John Philip Sousa, resulting in the building being designated a historical landmark, thus protecting it from destruction.
