Iola encounters a man who shows interest in one of her inventions. However, Vint, Naomi, and Bubba have created their own invention called Petlocks. When Mr. Wheeler arrives, he barely acknowledges Iola's work, quickly praising Vint's invention instead and requesting $800 as a show of good faith, promising to match it with his own funds. Mama is doubtful and refuses to give Vint the money. Just then, Detective Sneed arrives with news that Wheeler is a fraud. He recruits Mama and Iola to help trap Wheeler, providing Mama with $800 in marked bills and asking her to wear a wire for the conversation. At the last moment, Vint decides he no longer believes in the lock idea, and Mama must convince him otherwise.
