Catherine's father enlists Frank's help to look into a troubling case involving a friend whose son has been wrongfully convicted of murder. As Frank delves deeper, he suspects the crime may be connected to a notorious serial killer known as The Woodsman. After claiming his most recent victim, The Woodsman transports the body to a remote campsite, wraps her in plastic, buries her beneath leaves, and begins to converse with her. Shortly after, a shadowy figure presents him with photographs, instructing him to consider them as potential targets for his next killings, one of which includes Catherine Black.
