As Kate embarks on her spring cleaning, the US Air Force conducts exercises above the valley, which includes testing a new high-tech camera disguised as an innocuous black box. This device is rigged to detonate twelve hours after being removed from the plane. Colonel Millbank, piloting the aircraft, accidentally drops the camera, which lands on the Shady Rest property. Joe discovers it and, believing it to be valuable, brings it to the hotel. Despite Kate and the girls' attempts to dispose of it, Dog continuously retrieves the box. General Elmer Loomis and Colonel Millbank rush to Hooterville, searching for the device. Just in time, Dog delivers the box, only for it to be revealed as a harmless dud.
