Uncle Joe surprises Kate by arriving home with a buffalo! When she insists he return it, he reveals that all sales were final. His plan is to entice wealthy British hunter Lord Harold Faversham to visit "Shady Rest Hunting Lodge" for a buffalo hunt, but the buffalo is anything but wild, and the girls want to adopt him as their pet. Chaos ensues when Joe accidentally frightens the buffalo away, leaving Faversham with nothing to hunt. As Joe buys time for three days, the frustrated Lord threatens legal action while the girls try to safeguard their new friend. Kate devises a clever solution to satisfy Faversham's hunting desires.
