Cole disrupts a deal between Jimmy and Trepp, one of the inmates. He successfully captures Trepp and makes his escape, but soon realizes there's a link between Zin and the mob. Despite Mel's hesitations and with Nestov's help, Cole adopts the persona of a little-known mobster from the 1920s to go undercover. He employs his high-tech gadgets to craft a backstory to gain Tommy, the mob leader's, trust. Zin and Tommy's crew are in conflict, with Zin expanding his influence. Even with Jimmy's doubts and Vic's meddling, Cole discovers that Zin is drilling 300 feet deep in several downtown buildings. As Tommy and his gang are arrested, Cole uncovers another crucial clue.
