Counterattack at the Gallows (S02E04)
Lelouch figures out the true nature of Rolo's Geass and persuades him to hold back, promising to hand over C.C. in return. Li Xingke confronts and kills the eunuch Gao Hai, seizing control of the consulate. With the deadline near, Guilford readies to execute the captured Black Knights—until Zero appears and challenges him to a duel. Using the same trick as during the Black Rebellion, Zero collapses the ground beneath them, plunging the Britannian forces into Chinese territory. As Kallen and the Black Knights free the prisoners, Rolo arrives in the Vincent, intent on killing Lelouch for his betrayal. But Lelouch takes a bullet meant for Rolo, giving the boy pause. Playing on his fears of abandonment and their bond as siblings, Lelouch convinces Rolo to join him.
