Compounding his frustration, the community also directs all baby-related inquiries to Betty Jo, further isolating him. To address Steve's feelings of inadequacy, Uncle Joe hatches a scheme for them to "vanish" temporarily, hoping to provoke concern from Betty Jo and the family. However, the execution of their plan doesn't unfold as they had anticipated.
