Lizzie is in a whirlwind of excitement after Ethan Craft invites her to sit with him at lunch the following day. However, her joy is dampened by her annoying brother, Matt, who has played pranks by covering the phone receiver in honey and messing up her hair. Lizzie's anger reaches new heights, and their parents intervene, grounding Matt with the threat of harsher consequences. In a rush to catch the bus, Matt mistakenly boards the junior high bus. When Ethan demands he vacate his seat, Matt surprises him by standing his ground, introducing himself as "Bond...Matt Bond." By the time they arrive at school, Matt has inadvertently crafted a reputation as a child prodigy and actor, leaving everyone buzzing about him.
