Lizzie and Miranda are thrilled to receive an invitation to a pool party hosted by their crush, Danny Kessler. However, Mrs. McGuire's excitement dims when she realizes the party coincides with Grandma’s 80th birthday celebration. She insists Lizzie must attend the family event, leaving Lizzie infuriated. The next day at school, Miranda reconnects with Kate, their former best friend, who has moved on socially. This leads to tension between Miranda and Lizzie. After witnessing her mom fabricate an excuse to avoid a commitment, Lizzie calls her out for hypocrisy. With Gordo's support, Lizzie reconciles with Miranda, but ultimately chooses to skip the party and spend the day with Gordo instead.
